This piece was composed by my friend and former bandmate Kayla Cashetta. It's a beautiful exploration of harmonic devices. It strikes a balance that I think most people writing this type of music lack. Not delicate and watery enough to be impressionist, but not as course and disaffected as the second Viennese school. The cherry on top is, of course, the tastefully prepared piano, which we so rarely get to hear. The pianist is the fantastic Gerry Hecht.
